JOSEPHINE FROELICH
Painter + Educator
My Story
Josephine Froelich is a figurative and botanical painter from Washington, D.C. She is working and currently residing in her home city. She received her Bachelor's in Fine Art degree in Painting and Drawing and BA in Middle Eastern Cultures and Languages in Arabic from Indiana University. She is currently working on her Masters in Art Education from Catholic University of America. Josephine is an experienced high school art and Arabic teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland. For her, teaching art represents a natural extension of her creative passion, allowing her to inspire curiosity and a love of discovery in her students.
Her current works are abstracted works, focusing on narratives that are charming, playful, and energetic. She creates scenes of a distinct voice where the audience is aware that they are the observer. Each human moment is private where as the viewer you can interpret your own story. Josephine enjoys concealing and revealing the narrative in one painting.
